BismillahirRahmanirRahim.
Assalamu’alaikum Wr. Wb.
Dear student of the Noble Quran,
It gives me great pleasure to share with you High Frequency Words from the Quran and its wisdom everyday.
Previously you’ve learned 12 High Frequency Words from the Quran, yesterday’s HFW being (وَلِي). The HFW you will learn today is repeated for 86 times in the Quran. As of today you’ve learned 13 words from the Quran. Collectively these words are being used for 1078 times in the Quran! MasyaAllah! Let’s continue reading!
Today’s HFW of The Quran means “wealth/property”. Wealth and property is a blessing from Allah s.w.t and at the same time it’s a test from Him. Wealth/Property is a test for those who have it and for those who don’t. For those who have it, their test is syukur, their test to be among those who remain constantly grateful. For those who don’t have it , their test is sabr, their test is to be among those who remain steadfast and patient. And remember, “being patient doesn’t mean how long you can wait, but how well you behave while waiting.”
While last HFW talks about protector; Allah is the best and only protector, today’s HFW is something that we really need Allah’s protection. Allah is the best protector FOR our wealth/property and HE is also the best protector AGAINST it, and FROM misusing it. and on the contrary Wealth and property cannot protect us from Allah’s wrath, so we have to be smart, and use it to gain Allah’s blessings. What this imply is that the true relationship that we have and we must look after must be with Allah s.w.t., the Creator, and not material wealth/property which are His creations.
Today’s word is (مال) which means wealth/property. Allah s.w.t. bless some of us with wealth and property as a test. Wealth and property in the hands of khalifah is ni’mah, because he knows how to spend it the path pleased by Allah, wealth and property become as means to please Allah and not the ultimate objective. The ultimate objective remains to attain the pleasure of Allah s.w.t. Everyone should seek how to manage his wealth and property wisely, so that it will facilitate him attaining Allah’s love in this world and here after. Wealth in the hands of transgressors cannot protect them from the wrath of Allah, please read surah al-masad, and take the lesson in it.
Your 12th High Frequency Word of the Quran:
Aspire list of HFW Number: #88
مَال
Transliteration: Maal
Meaning: Wealth/Property
Meaning in Malay: Harta
Frequency in the Quran: 86 times
First Mention in Quran: Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 2 (2:155)
Last Mention in Quran: Surah Al-Masad, Verse 2 (111:2)
In Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 155 (2:155), Allah says:
“And we will most certainly test you with some fear, hunger, and lost of property and lives and fruit, and give glad tidings to those who are patient!”
In the verse the word used is “amwaal” the plural form of “maal”. In comparison with “maal”, “amwaal” is used more frequently in the Quran, both means wealth/property, the only thing is that “amwaal” is plural while “maal” is singular. Wealth / property are test from Allah s.w.t. it can make us closer to HIM, or invite HIS wrath, by spending in HIS path we are getting ourselves closer to HIM. Sabr and Syukur is the way to pass the test, for those who remain sabr, Allah s.w.t. is constantly with them as the remain sabr, for those remain in constant state of Syukur, Allah increase His bounty and blessings for them!
