Session 2 High Frequency Word of the Noble Quran

1″َأَيْنَ”3    “تِلْكَ”2    “ذَلِك”

1 – َذًلِك / “zalika”

means “that” [for male]

 

Example from the Quran: “ِذَلِكَ الكِتَابُ لاَ رَيْبَ فِيْه “

Transliteration: ” zalika al-kitabu la raiba fiih”

English Translation: “THAT DIVINE WRIT – let there be no doubt about it – ”  🙂

Malay Translation: “Kitab Al-Quran itu, tidak ada sebarang syak padanya ”  🙂

 

Conversational Model:

Q: Where is the mosque?             س: أين المَسْجِد؟

A: The mosque is there             ج: ذَلِكَ هُوَ المَسْجِد

 

From Surah Al-Baqarah (2), Verse 2

 

 

 

Complete English Translation:[2:2] THIS DIVINE WRIT – let there be no doubt about it – is [meant to be] a guidance for all the God-conscious

Complete Malay Translation: [2:2] Kitab Al-Quran ini, tidak ada sebarang syak padanya (tentang datangnya dari Allah dan tentang sempurnanya); ia pula menjadi petunjuk bagi orang-orang yang (hendak) bertakwa;

2 – َتِلْك / “tilka”

means “that” [for female]

 

Example from the Quran:تِلْكَ أُمَّةٌ قَدْ خَلَت”

Transliteration: “‘ tilka ummatun qad kholat”

English Translation: “Those are a people who have passed away”  🙂

Malay Translation: “Itu adalah umat yang lalu”  🙂

 

Conversational Model:

Q: Where is the bag?                                                                           س:أَيْنَ الحَقِيْبَة؟

A: That is the bag.                                                             ج: تِلْكَ هِيَ الحَقِيْبَة

 

From Surah Al-Baqarah (2), Verse 134

 

 

 

Complete English Translation: [2:134] Those are a people who have passed away. Theirs is that which they earned, and yours is that which ye earn. And ye will not be asked of what they used to do.

Complete Malay Translation: [2:134] Itu adalah umat yang lalu; baginya apa yang telah diusahakannya dan bagimu apa yang sudah kamu usahakan, dan kamu tidak akan diminta pertanggungan jawab tentang apa yang telah mereka kerjakan.

3 – َأَين / “aina”

means “where”

 

Example from the Quran:أَيْنَ شُرَكَآؤُكُمُ الَّذِيْنَ كُنْتُمْ تَزْعُمُوْن”

Transliteration: “‘ aina syurakaakum alladziina kuntum taz’umun”

English Translation: “Where are (now) those partners of your make-believe ?”  🙂

Malay Translation: “Manakah orang-orang dan benda-benda yang dahulu kamu sifatkan (menjadi sekutu Allah)?”  🙂

 

Conversational Model:

Q: Where is the bag?                                                                                س:أَيْنَ الحَقِيْبَة؟

A: The bag is in the room.                                                             ج: الحَقِيْبَة فيِ الغُرْفَة

 

From Surah Al-An’aam (6), Verse 22

 

 

 

Complete English Translation: [6:22] And on the day We gather them together We shall say unto those who ascribed partners (unto Allah): Where are (now) those partners of your make-believe ?

Complete Malay Translation: [6:22] Dan (ingatlah), hari (kiamat yang padanya) Kami himpunkan mereka semua, kemudian Kami berfirman kepada orang-orang musyrik: Manakah orang-orang dan benda-benda yang dahulu kamu sifatkan (menjadi sekutu Allah)?
