High Frequency Word of The Quran #94: صَلَوة

    BismillahirRahmanirRahim.

    Assalamu’alaikum Wr. Wb.

Dear student of the Noble Quran,

It gives me great pleasure to share with you High Frequency Words from the Quran and its wisdom everyday.

Previously you’ve learned 6 High Frequency Words from the Quran, (َأَصْحَاب) ,(مَا) ,(يَوْم) ,(كَيْف) ,(شَيْطَان), and (يَبَنِي) . The HFW you will learn today is repeated for 83 times in the Quran. As of today you’ve learned 7 words from the Quran. Collectively these words are being used for 571 times in the Quran! MasyaAllah! Let’s continue reading!

Today, we learn about the word  (صَلَوة) which means “prayer”.

Your 7th High Frequency Word of the Quran:

Aspire list of HFW Number: #94

    صَلَوة

    Transliteration: Solah

    Meaning: Prayer

    Meaning in Malay: Sembahyang

Frequency in the Quran: 83 times

First Mention in Quran: Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 3 (2:3)

Last Mention in Quran: Surah Al-Maun, Verse 5 (107:5)

In Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 3 (2:3), Allah says:
Those who believe in the unseen and keep up the prayer and share (with others) what we have given them

    2_3

The word solah and selawat come from the same rooth word, and they both mean prayer,

the first is “pray TO Allah”, the other “pray FOR RASULILLAH”.

Almost in all verses in the Quran the word solah is used as a prove of imaan (faith). The word was last mentioned in Surah Al-Maun, and it warns us from not putting proper attention in our solah, a result of lack of faith, which leads to lack of attention in Solah. Indeed Al-Quran is from Allah! Observe how the first and the last word mentioned compliment each other in the message of importance of establishing attention in prayer!

Thus, if we want to put effort to increase our faith, we should put effort to increase our attention in our prayer, and insyaAllah our faith shall increase, and it will also influence others in our circle, like our children, spouse, and friends.

To increase our attention is solah we must feel the need to perform it. Don’t perform it just because we have to. Do it because we want to, because it completes our life and we feel happier and more wholesome during our time in solah and after it. Our solah is the first thing that Allah s.w.t. will ask us in the day of judgment and it is the line between faith and syirk. May Allah guide us and ease for us to fulfill his commands. Ameen.

The word Bani in the phrase Ya Bani appears 80 times in the Quran and its not exclusive to Children of Israel only, it is also mentioned outside the context of Bani Israel. It’s an indication which emphasis on the importance of children. For they are the seed of next generation. They shall walk this earth, when we are underground looking up to them. It is important to for us to remind and train ourselves and our children to be grateful of the blessings from Allah.

The fall of Children of Israel is because they fail to remember the blessings of Allah on them, so let this be a lesson to us. And lets start counting our blessings WITH our children. Our children need our guidance. And because action speaks louder than words, they will follow our actions more than listen to what our words tell them. • High Frequency Word of The Quran #96: شَيْطَان

High Frequency Word of The Quran #96: شَيْطَان

    BismillahirRahmanirRahim. Assalamu’alaikum Wr. Wb.

Dear student of the Noble Quran,

Below is your 5th High Frequency Word of the Quran:

Aspire list of HFW Number: #96

    شَيْطَان

    Transliteration: Syaitaan

    Meaning: Satan/Devil

    Meaning in Malay: Syaitan

Frequency in the Quran: 80 times

First Mention in Quran: Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 36 (2:36)

But satan/the devil made them both fall from it, and caused them to depart from that (state) in which they were, and We said: Fall down, one of you a foe unto the other! There shall be for you on earth a habitation and provision for a time.

    2_36

This verse reminds us that it is important to observe our surrounding and be conscious of our inner selves.
For satan/or the devil is a negative energy, but if we focus ourselves on positive energy by reminding ourselves of Allah and returning to HIM always, the positive will expand, remember, what we focus on expands.

Focus on Allah, the mightiest and most magnificent of all positive energy and the negative energy will not come close, though we must constantly remain vigilant within, with our inner thoughts, observe them more, observe people’s faults less.

Syaitan’s mission is to turn humans into enemies against each other. But if we remain focus on developing our own positive thoughts and looking at others positively we will syaitan will fail his mission. The key to positive thoughts and mindset is to get closer to Allah by reading Quran and learning its meaning, to do zikir constantly also helps. Remember also to ask Allah s.w.t. for guidance especially when we read surah Al-Fatihah and we recite “ihdinas siratal mustaqeem” guide us to straight upright path.

Today we learn about the word Yaum (يوم) which means “day”.

Below is your 3rd High Frequency Word of the Quran:

Aspire list of HFW Number: #98

    يَوْم

    Transliteration: Yaum

    Meaning: Day

    Meaning in Malay: Hari

Frequency in the Quran: 81 times

First Mention in Quran: Surah Al-Fatihah, Verse 4 (1:4)

Last Mention in Quran: Surah Al-Qaari’ah, Verse 1 (101:4)

Friday is a very blessed day in Islam.

It is said that Rasulullah s.a.w. said that Friday is the Leader of the 7 days of the week. So we look forward to every Friday not because it’s the end of the week, but because Rasulullah says its a SPECIAL Day for us! So we prepare our very best for that day to go to the mosque and bring our children together.

In Surah Al-Fatihah, Verse 4 (1:4), Allah says:

(Allah) is King on the Day of Judgment

    1_4

It is important to remember this verse always and apply it in life, so that we judge people less in this life by always remembering that we will be thoroughly judged by Allah, The Real KING in the hereafter.

It is also important to note that when we acknowledge Allah s.w.t. as our real true King we are servants to him. We are his real true servants. As His servants we look forward to serve him and and to attain his pleasure. And when we accept our position as His servants He will guide us. We always ask Allah for guidance but sometimes we forget to behave as His servants so the guidance does not reach us.

We read surah Al-Fatihah everyday, let’s read it with understanding and with intention to apply it in life.

Please search and read this verse in the Quran or on your mobile app this morning
