He began his Islamic & secular education at Singapore’s esteemed Madrasah Aljunied Al-Islamiah and graduated 12 years later with a Graduate Scholarship award from the school. Ustaz Yazid spent the next five years at the famous Al-Azhar University in Egypt to pursue his Bachelor Degree, where he majored in Arabic Language, Literature and Linguistics. He then pursued a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Islamic Studies from State Islamic University (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah in Jakarta. His studies focused on the Quran, Phenomenology & Socio-Linguistics.

A graduate of Madrasah Aljunied Al-Islamiah. Ustaz Ahmad furthered his studies in Islamic Sacred Law (Faculty of Syari’ah) at Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt, spending five years there. He has experienced working with teenagers teaching Islamic Studies at a local mosque. Currently he holds the position of Operations Manager at Aspire Institute. Apart from teaching AL3C at Aspire Institute, he currently conducts classes on Islamic Studies during weekends.

Ustaz Lutfi completed his studies at Madrasah Aljunied Al-Islamiah. He received his Diploma in Usuluddin (Foundations of Islam) specializing in Tafsir at Ma’had Ihsaniah in Penang, Malaysia in 2005 and the next year, continued to study the same course as a final year student at Al-Azhar University in Egypt. Since 2002, he has been teaching Arabic Language and Islamic Studies to adults, young adults and teenagers at various organizations and companies. He believes in being a perpetual knowledge seeker and regards himself as being a guide rather than a teacher during lessons.

Ustaz Hassan studied at Madrasah Wak Tanjong Al-Islamiah. Upon graduating, he continued his studies at Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt in the field of Islamic Sacred Law ( Faculty of Syari’ah) He has experienced working as a Madrasah teacher at his alma mater, instructing full-time Madrasah students ranging from various levels. Ustaz Ahmad Nafis has also given (and continues to give) talks (kuliyah and tazkira sessions) at various mosques on general issues pertaining to Islam.

He has experienced working with teenagers & youth teaching Islamic Studies at a local mosque. Currently he holds the position of Youth Development Officer in one of North East Mosque Cluster.

Ustaz Syarif, a graduate from Madrasah Al-Junied Al-Islamiah. Attended University Al-Azhar in the Faculty of Islamic Sacred Law (Faculty of Syari’ah), while pursuing his studies at the University, he was personally coached by various Shuyukhs in the traditional education of reciting the Quran, in the district of Abassiyah, Cairo, Egypt. He is now serving as a Dakwah Officer at Tentera Diraja Mosque, focusing on programs catered to children, youths and adults.

Ustaz Nassier has spent ten years in Damascus, Syria, studying at Maahad al-Fatah al-Islami. He has attended additional Halaqa sessions with various traditional scholars in al-Quran, Fiqh (Sacred Law) and Hadis (Prophetic traditions). Ustaz Ismail attended Madrasah Aljunied Al-Islamiah prior to his studies in Damascus, Syria. Currently he is a Mosque Religious Officer (MRO) at Al-Falah Mosque, where he also gives dars (kuliyah and tazkira sessions). He, along with Ustaz Muhammad Hafizd, are part of the local group sharing traditional sacred poetry, Madeehul Mustafa.

Ustaz Hafizd spent four years in Damascus, Syria, studying traditional Islam while enrolled in Maahad Tahzib wa Ta’lim. He has completed recitation of the Quran with scholars such as sheikh al-Qabshawy from Cairo, Egypt, during his travels and sheikh Aiman al-Baqlah from Damascus, Syria. Ustaz Hafizd attended Madrasah Aljunied Al-Islamiah prior to his studies in Syria. His experience in serving the community includes being a teacher for a local mosque and a former teacher for a full-time Madrasah. He considers himself as a student of Qiraat and the art of recitation of the Quran. An avid seeker of knowledge and appreciating the art of recitation, he is able to guide others in understanding the art of traditional Qasidahs and Maqamaat.

Brother Rusydi completed his Pre-U Level in Madrasah Wak Tanjong Al-Islamiah and pursued his degree at Madinah International University (MEDIU) in the faculty of The Sciences of The Quran. Currently besides teaching in mosques, he is still pursuing knowledge especially in the Arabic Language with the local teachers in traditional method. He believes that knowledge gained is best practiced when shared!
